Pelham wins Barbican Insurance

Pelham has been appointed by Barbican Insurance, the international insurance and reinsurance underwriting group, to manage its media relations. Barbican’s long term strategy is to build an insurance and reinsurance group with a premium volume of £225m by the end of 2011.

The Pelham team will be headed by Damian Beeley, who leads the agency’s insurance practice, supported by Zoë Pocock. Pelham’s Lloyd’s clients include Advent Capital, Kiln and The London 100, alongside Brightside Group and Jelf in the UK regional market.

Ian Jones, Barbican’s Director of Marketing and Communications, said: “Pelham’s appointment marks a new chapter in our growth as we become more interesting to a wider audience. Pelham’s reputation is well respected in this sector and we have no doubt that we are in good hands and will have excellent support in matching our communications objectives to our business goals.”

Damian Beeley added: “We are delighted to be working with Barbican, one of the most highly respected new entrants to the market in recent years. Our appointment adds significant weight to our insurance sector capabilities. The Pelham team has extensive experience and Barbican is a worthy addition to that list.”
